Towards the end of WWI, in 1918, Ferdinand Piatnik & Söhne in Budapest published a pack looking similar to the Seasons Pattern cards or 'Doppeldeutsche', but with military illustrations. The company's name is on the Seven of Bells, together with a Hungarian tax stamp. There is also the text 'HAZAI IPAR', local production.
The Kings are Tsar Ferdinand (Bulgaria) for Acorns, Emperor Wilhelm II (Germany) for Leaves, Emperor Karl I (Austria) on Hearts and Sultan Mehmed V (Turkey) for Bells. The Obers and Unters are military leaders from WWI, on the deuces and pip cards are war scenes. For the Obers and Unters, their name is given.
This is the second of three editions of this pack. The back shows two attacking infantrymen, and the name of the pack: 'Hadsegélyzö Kartya' (War Relief Card). As opposed to the first edition, two cards (Eight of Hearts and Deuce of Bells) have been modified. The Deuce of Bells shows two different scenes here.
