This pack was designed in 1928, but the cards shown here are a later edition from 1940. The cards were printed by the Arrco Playing Card Co. in Chicago.
The cards were designed as advertising cards for an automotive aftermarket retail and service chain in Philadelphia, managed by the Pep Boys. The founders in 1921 were Emanuel (Manny) Rosenfeld, Maurice L. (Moe) Strauss, W. Graham (Jack) Jackson, and Moe Radavitz. The company still exists today.
