Playing-card Tax Stamps in Italy

(This is from a mail sent by Virgilio Ferrari)

About Italian tax stamps may be that I can help you about different stamps and dates of use. I am sure about years but I don't mention months because I am not sure of them. In any case usually there is a second stamp with the date (at least month and year, in the circular stamps also the day). This second stamp is circular from 1880 to 1922 and from 1943 to 1945 (in northern Italy), from 1922 to 1972 is rectangular.

The first value I mention is for 40 cards packs and the second one for packs with more cards (52 cards, tarot packs etc.) even if you can find decks with the wrong stamp, normally the less expensive on 52 cards and tarot packs.

Between September 1943 and the end of 1945, due to the war, you can find the 1925-1943 tax stamp or 1943-1945 stamps without date etc.
